Prof. Dr. Nagamalesh U M

Dr. Nagamalesh U M is a highly skilled Interventional and Transplant Cardiologist with over two decades of experience in managing complex cases related to Advanced Heart Failure, Heart Transplantation, and Interventional Cardiology. He has successfully performed more than 80 heart transplants with internationally recognized outcomes and has completed over 30,000 cardiac procedures, including catheterizations, coronary angiographies, pacemaker implants, and coronary angioplasties. His expertise encompasses primary angioplasty, bifurcation lesions, left main and vein graft interventions, utilizing both radial and femoral approaches. Additionally, he is proficient in advanced cardiac techniques such as FFR, ROTA, valvular heart disease management, ASD and PDA closures, pacemaker and ICD implantation, as well as cutting-edge therapies like TAVI and TAVR. Dr. Nagamalesh earned his MBBS from JSS Medical College, Mysore, followed by a Master’s in Medicine from the esteemed Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru. He holds a Diplomate of the National Board (Cardiology) and has received specialized training in heart failure and transplant cardiology from Papworth Hospital, Cambridge, UK. A recognized contributor to the field, Dr. Nagamalesh has authored articles in various medical publications. Among his many accolades, he has been honored with the Chairman’s Award by Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty of Narayana Health and received the Distinguished Alumni Award for his exceptional role in advancing the Heart Transplant Programme in Karnataka.
